How Much Do Uber Drivers Make In Los Angeles?

A fair question to ask when looking to become an Uber driver is how much money will I make.

There are many answers floating around the internet when it comes to that question.

Car Requirements Los Angeles

So, what is on the car list when applying for Uber?

You may have a vehicle that already meets the criteria of rolling in LA.

Some drivers will need to be sure. Getting information on the year, make and model is important.

To drive in California in the Los Angeles area here are the minimum requirements.

• Model year 2002 or newer
• 4-door car or minivan
• Good condition with no cosmetic damage
• No commercial branding
• Pass a vehicle inspection

Many of the newer cars will qualify for Uber X. This is the most popular option that riders select.

More requirements

• 4-DR sedan in really good condition
• Seats at least 4 passengers including the driver
• Functioning windows and air conditioning
• ZERO full-sized vans or trucks
• ZERO taxi cabs, government cars, or other marked vehicles
• ZERO salvaged or rebuilt vehicles

You must have a 2002 year model car or newer to qualify for UberX.

uberXL

This option generates higher fares as you seat more passengers in this vehicle.

More requirements

• 4-Door SUV or minivan with doors that operate independently
• Seat at least 6 passengers including the driver
• Fully operational windows and air conditioning
• Zero full-sized vans or trucks
• Zero taxi cabs, government cars, or other marked vehicles
• Zero salvaged or rebuilt vehicles

Many of the SUVs manufactured will qualify for driving Uber XL.

UberSELECT

Middle ground luxury sedans that produce higher fares.

Extra requirements

• 2009 model year or newer
• Leather or vinyl inside interior with zero tears

• Working window and AC unit in car
